Buildings, Budgets and Big Pieces of Paper

We met with our Contractor and this is what I learned.

He’s ‘not’ our contractor, because My Loving Spouse is going to be our Contractor. Insert a small moment of panic as I imagined budgets flying out the window and work (which hasn’t actually started yet) coming to a screeching halt, while there are large holes in our current kitchen’s floor and walls, (which also hasn’t happened yet, but it will happen…the holes I mean).

Other than that, I’m great…. It’s been snowing a lot. Doesn’t this tree look pretty?

Both ‘Contractors’ then began to put my mind at rest, which it mostly is.

We’re extremely excited to have the plans in hand!

This is a big project. One that needs to be done. I believe we’ve got a good plan, that will create a wonderful family space in this dear old house.

I’ve included the big pieces of paper, because

a. I’m excited

b. My Handy Seattle Cousin will love seeing the plans

c. ????

All guest have been warned….there is going to be a lot of mayhem…coming soon!

…and we are blessed.

How exciting to have actual plans drawn out! I love that the kitchen sink has a window looking out toward the barn and pond! But even better, THE pantry!!! Keep your eyes on the prize as you go through the hard stuff.

Thanks friend, remodeling is certainly a first world opportunity. I think this kitchen, we’ve created (on paper) will serve and support this home as it was meant to be!

Good Morning Blessed Friend……love seeing the detail for THE kitchen remodel. Will the new kitchen be open into the new breakfast room? I can’t enlarge the plans to see the detail. This will be an adventure stretching your patience. Wine will help!

Yes, indeed, it will be a big open kitchen and breakfast room better fitting this home.

We’re trying to figure out how to keep the outside animals outside during renovation!

Thanks, we need a place were he can come in, but not chew the shoes we leave in the mud room!

And you are living there while all this is going on? I’ll start praying for you now. The plans do look great!

      Yes, we’ll live through it…. I hope!
Funny thing is, I’d never even thought of not living here through it…
