The proper term is ‘irrigation boots’. I picked these because they were blue with a jaunty red stripe. I didn’t think we’d need these until we had horses, to muck out horse….stuff. I was wrong. Remember what they are called… irr-i-gaaaaa-tion boots.
We had an irrigation leak and were springing up new “ponds” all about the farm. As the official plumber’s assistant (not the plumber’s “helper”), I offered to go into the ‘box’. I am a bit more limber than the plumber, so I got to find out right away, that my boots do NOT leak as I was standing in 6 inches of water. Same picture – different view.
Things I learned today – bailing, plumbing clamps, a new bad word, and that I do not like plumbing. I also think that if you live on a farm and want a sense of control, order and accomplishment, then you should write down all the stuff you got done at the end of the day (which is always a lot), then write “to-do” on it with today’s date. This way you will have gotten all of the items on the list done. So far doing the list first is really not working. Oh, yes, and now one more leak is fixed!
I think I should use that list idea. It sounds just like my life…well, except I have to deal with different leaky things, like diaper that don’t fit a 15 year old boy and a 13 year old girl’s emotions…
Oh gosh! The emotions are the hard part! Send the girl out here for a week this summer, she can learn to ride the horse and play in the barn like we did at the Ranch when we were kids. Laura will love her to death!
And they say owning a HOME is a never ending job!
Sounds as though there is no need to pay for a gym or excercise class.
Your title should be Plumber’s Intern. That way when you don’t get paid for all your hard work it makes more sense! 🙂 Keep the posts and pics coming! I love receiving your updates!
Best, Chris Pate
Thanks Chris….
appreciate the ‘thumbs’ up!
