This is one of my favorite finds in one of the old sheds at Glory Farm. A work horse of a work bench, that has seen many a project completed, a problem repaired and an innovative approach to reusing. Long before the word recycling was politically correct, reusing was just a way of life. I love these oil cans fashioned into drawers for holding bolts, bits and tools.

Oh, Ellen, that is the second time in two days you have brought me to tears. First–just to know that Laura had a great first day of school–what a blessing. And now when I read your blog I realized how much I miss my old stomping grounds in rural Nebraska. When I go there every summer some part of me relaxes and I just feel like I’m home. I look forward to your next entry. When will Pat arrive? Love to all–
This reminds me of what we had when i was a kid but it was baby food jars with the lids nailed on to the bench…such a cool find for you!!!
wow! my dad would be all over that idea! very resourceful! Enjoy the scavenger hunt for new treasures……
