Pumpkin Spice Creamer

fallOne of the prettiest places to enjoy the fall is right here in Kittitas Valley.  The leaves are showing off their colors, the sky is blue, filled with clouds and the air feels like a gentle caress on your cheek.  It is the perfect time of year to enjoy an afternoon cup of coffee with pumpkin spice creamer.  Oh, yum!

Except…and this is a big EXCEPT, this is the second year where I cannot find any pumpkin spice creamer.  It is not like we do not have regular grocery stores here.  We have two major chains, one independent and one knock off store.  We frequent them all…we’ve found NO pumpkin spice creamer!  None, zilch, nada, nothing.  I’ve even broken down and asked the manager type looking guy at the stores.  The first manager was really well informed,

“Ah…we don’t have any?”

The second one was equally well informed with at least a better sense of humor.

“Really?”

‘Nope, none…does it take a special handshake to get some?  If so, I need to find out what it is.  I’ve lived here 3 years…isn’t that long enough to be let into the secret Pumpkin Spice Creamer Group?’

“Well, one would think so wouldn’t they.”

My Librarian and I discussed how you can buy anything on Amazon.com, so I attempted to find my creamer there.  I was actually amazed at how many pumpkin spice items are available this time of year.  I wouldn’t ever actually order any of these things, but I did quickly look to see if our store carried them.

pumpkin spice m&mNope, not in Ellensburg, but I’d be willing to try them…after all…chocolate and pumpkin what could go wrong?

pumpkin spice oreoThese actually looked sort of yucky to me, but then I do not need to try them, as they too are not available in Ellensburg.

pumpkin spice twinkieTwinkies!  Twinkies even has pumpkin spice!  That just sounds gross, but I don’t have to worry as they are also not available in Ellensburg.

The really weirdest one of all…chapstick!!!pumpkin spice chapstickI did in fact find the creamer I was looking for…yippee and yee-haw (country speak for cool’, which is Hippie speak for ‘great’)!  Great, excellent, my afternoon warmed up left over coffee delightfully accented with pumpkin spice creamer was just a click away, until I saw the price!  Are you kidding me?pumpkin spice creamerI’m afraid, I will remain…spice-less.

Have you considered…. I know it may sound odd…. but you do odd things on the farm, so here goes…. Buy the pumpkin spice twinkies. Unwrap said twinkies, bite off one end, squeeze out the pumpkin cream filling into your coffee. Voila! Let me know how it tastes.

You know that is going to taste awful! However, I cannot even try it because they are not carried in Ellensburg, just like the Pumpkin Spice Pop Tarts! It is getting critical here!

We tried the Oreo’s (thought about taking them on the Green River trip) and there’s a few of the M&Ms in the fridge because BJ doesn’t like anything with coffee. I think it’s time to see if we can go on a rescue mission for you.

Checked Basha’s (a locally owned state-wide chain,) Fry’s (Kroger owned,) and Winco (my favorite since they brought Tillamook ice cream to town.) No one had your creamer but Basha’s was expecting it any day now. The good news was that 2 of the 3 had Eggnog so it wasn’t a wasted research trip. 🙂

        Dear John,
That is a problem that they already have eggnog! OMG! Thanks for the rescue mission, luckily for me your Spokane brother has taken this mission to heart and I am promised some pumpkin spice creamer via Spokane to Leavenworth to Number Four who will bring it to Eburg…I can almost taste it!
